Sabbat Supplies
From "sabbath," or "Saturday." In Wiccan terminology, one of eight important
holidays marking turning points in the year, based on ancient pagan solar
calendars. (The "Sabbath" comes to modern Neopaganism through European
witchcraft folklore.) The eight Sabbats together are known as
the "Wheel of the year," and are:
Samhain, Yule,
Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnasadh & Mabon.

The continuous circle seemingly had no beginning or end, thus signified
that as one cycle ended another began eternal life. The seasons of the year
were thought to be part of this cycle. The names of the four seasons date back
to pre-Christian times: 1) Earrach for "Spring," 2) Samhradh for "Summer," 3)
Foghara for "Harvest" which refers to Autumn, and 4) Geamhradh for
