Whose children are they?

     This is for all of you who have children, and those that wish
the best for those of us that do. It is ironic, or is it, that in the
"U.N. Year of the child", this is what they have been intending to
do all along. At the end of this introduction you will find a brief
snapshot of a "Treaty" that our Senate is considering for a vote
as you read this.
     The treachery involved in the writing of such a document is as
never before seen in modern man. Except in that period of time
when "Socialism" shook the world. We are seeing the boldest
grab for power, nay, complete domination, in three generations.
All I can say, is that I can say no more in defense of men, or
women, who would vote for a treaty of this kind.
     Please read the following text carefully. If you agree that this
is totally wrong, and against everything America has ever stood
for, call your Representatives, Senators, EVERYBODY YOU
KNOW!

Save the children, they are our last Natural Resource.

                     THE TREATY FOR THE UNITED NATIONS
                   CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD
                           SENATE RESOLUTION 70
                                  (SR 70)

   "The Convention on the Rights of the Child" is a legal document that
removes parental rights by designating the U.S.. Federal Government and the
United Nations as the legal guardian of your child.

   The child is guaranteed forty federally protected rights and you, the
parent have one right - the right to provide financial support for your
child according to the standard set by the United Nations.

   Your effectiveness in providing your child's forty rights  would be
monitored and enforced by a mammoth regulatory federal bureaucracy and an
international committee of 10 experts in Geneva, Switzerland.

   Implementation will require a huge expenditure of funds via our tax
increases.

Article 1 - A child, means anyone under the age of 18.

THE FORTY RIGHTS OF YOUR CHILD WOULD INCLUDE:

Article 2 -The child is protected from all forms of punishment. (England
             signed this UN Treaty 4 years ago. Now the first official
             audit of children's rights in England has been published.
             The audit alleges repeated violations of the Treaty.  UN
             officials are demanding Parliament pass legislation to ban
             corporal punishment in private schools and to outlaw
             chastisement of children at home!)

Article 7 - The child shall be registered immediately after birth. (Why?)

Article 9 - The child shall not be separated from the parents except when
             competent authorities determine such separation is necessary
             for the best interests of the child.

NOTE: Read Brenda Scott's Out of Control, on the child
protective services (CPS) and the courts willingness to remove
the child from your home because of an accidental bruise as
evidence.  Of the 2.1 million cases of abuse reported each
year more than 85% are based on false allegations. (The Home

Article 13 - The child shall have the right to freedom of expression,
             either orally, in writing, or in print, in the form of art or
             through any other media of the child's choice. (This destroys
             the rights of parents to guide the intellectual, spiritual and
             moral development of their children. Beverly LaHaye, CWA)

Article 14 - The State shall respect the right of the child to freedom of
             thought, conscience and religion, subject only to such
             limitations as are prescribed by law. (Parents could be
             prevented from enrolling their children in sectarian schools
             or have their child attend a particular church.  Your child
             would be free to join the cult or church of their choice
             and free to reject yours. B. LaHaye, CWA))

Article 15 - The State recognizes the rights of the child to freedom of
             association. (Parents would be prohibited from forbidding
             their children from joining gangs, cults, or racist groups.

Article 16 - No child shall be subjected to interference with his or her
             privacy or correspondence. (Establishes a child's right to
             privacy, including the right to abortion without notice to the
             parents, the purchase and use of contraceptives, the right to
             have heterosexual or homosexual relations and the right to
             possess pornographic materials. B. LaHaye, CWA)

Article 24 - The State shall strive to ensure that no child is deprived of
             his or her rights to health care services. The State shall
             pursue full implementation of the right, and shall develop
             preventive health care, guidance for parents and family
             planning education and services. (i.e. abortion services and
             free condom distribution to children, and mandatory sex ed
             classes that incorporate homosexual practices as options.)

Article 26 - The State shall recognize for every child the right to
             benefit from social security, including social insurance, and
             shall take necessary measures to achieve the full realization
             of this right. (What is social insurance?)

             NOTE:  Social Security is bankrupting the U.S.. now; how are we
             going to provide for Social Security for the rest of the
             world?

Article 27 - Every child has the right to a standard of living adequate
             for his or her physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social
             development. Parents have the primary responsibility to ensure
             this right.

Article 28 - The State shall promote and encourage international
              cooperation in matters relating to education.  ( It prescribes
              content of what must be taught all children in several sensitive
              areas.  The UN Treaty is a blatant grab for power over United
              States educational system and open attempt to dictate what
              our children will learn and how they will learn it; it's provisions
              apply to private as well as public schools. Phyllis Schlafly)

Article 31 - The State recognizes the right of the child to rest and
              leisure.  ( A child can refuse to clean up his room or carry
              out the trash)

   Parental authority over the raising of their children has been a
fundamental right under the United States Constitution.  "The Convention of
the Child" is in direct conflict with this principle.



  The crisis of this country are moral in their cause and the teaching of
morality begins in the family.  The family is the crucible that forms the
character, morals and values of the child. The family must be Protected -
not destroyed.

   The churches, schools, media and peer group all have their profound
effect - but the family matrix is the 1st and foremost influence on the
child throughout life.

   From statistics and the media we have devastating proof of what usually
happens to the child when raised in a single parent home, or when
circumstances cut the child off from the family.

   Society today is paying the price for the break up of the family that
has been the result of no-fault divorce and the rise of the drug culture
with it's attendant criminal sedulity.

   It numbs the mind to even consider what will be the effect on our
children and culture if the Federal Government or the United Nations were
to have total legal control of the care and education of our children.

   The goal of the Treaty is to mold the child into a creature of the
State, a member of the Global Community, who looks to the State as
provider, protector and spiritual leader.

              THIS CONCEPT SHOULD BE INTOLERABLE TO PARENTS!

   "The Treaty for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the
Child" is a "TREATY".

   A Treaty requires ratification by 2/3's of the Senate  - 2/3's of the
senate Present!  It could be arranged to have the vote taken in one of the
Senate's notorious after hours sessions when everyone has gone home, except
for the previously agreed upon few.  Then, with only a show of hands and no
recorded vote - you won't know who voted for or against it (as they have
done for their salary increases!).

           TREATIES SUPERSEDE THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION!!!


    In 1920 the Supreme Court ruled in Missouri v. Holland, that a treaty
supersedes the Constitution.

   In 1953 the Bricker Amendment attempted to reaffirm the supremacy of
the United States Constitution over treaties  - but failed be 1 vote!

   Ratification by the Senate of the Convention of the Child would
surrender United States National Sovereignty over domestic affairs to the
United Nations and it's "international panel of ten"  experts as provided
in Article 43.

     IF YOU DON'T STAND UP AND SAY "NO" NOW, SOMEDAY YOU'LL BE ON
YOUR KNEES SAYING, "YES"!!

                             WRITE, FAX, AND CALL

   1.  TELL your Senators to vote NO on "The Treaty for the UN Convention on
       the Rights of the Child".

   2.  This Treaty must go to the Foreign Relations Committee before going to
       the Senate Floor. Contact the Foreign Relations Committee and TELL them
       to vote NO on this disastrous Treaty.
