ACTIVIST JUDGES ARE CAPTURING THE COURTS. . .
* Bill Clinton has now appointed 301 federal judges, almost 40%
of the Federal bench;
* The Republican-controlled Senate has not rejected a single
Clinton nominee; last year, 56 of the 63 Clinton appointees
were approved without a single negative vote.
ACTIVIST JUDGES HURT YOU!
* Among Clinton's 1998 appointees are judges whose decisions
strike at the heart of the value system we hold so dear: U.S.
District Judge William Traxler has already struck down
abortion clinic regulations in South Carolina; and U.S.
District Judge Dan Polster has already ruled that the city
seal of Stow, Ohio, which includes a cross, violates the
constitutional "separation of church and state."
* The Clinton Administration is proceeding at full speed with
dangerous nominees in 1999. By mid-February, 19 nominees had
already been sent to the Senate. Twelve of these were
nominated, but not confirmed, last year.
* Among these 12 are nominees with disturbing records: Richard
Paez (to the Ninth Court of Appeals) with a record of support
for affirmative action, abortion interests, and judicial
activism; feminist Marsha Berzon (also to the Ninth Circuit);
and People for the American Way attorney Timothy Dyk (to the
Federal Circuit) with a record supporting pornography and
opposing religious parents' control over their children's
education.
BUT.....
YOU CAN FIGHT BACK!
* Contact your U.S. Senators, plus Senate Majority Leader Trent
Lott and Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, and tell
them NO MORE CLINTON JUDGES!
* Demand a roll call vote on every judicial nomination.
